I am moving, what should I do with my Somfy Protect equipments?
You are moving and you have Somfy Protect equipment, there are two alternatives:
- You are moving and take your security system with you
- You are moving and let the security system to the new owner
A. You are moving and take your security system with you
Two possible scenarios:
- You want to keep all equipment associated
- You want to delete all the installation
1. You want to keep all equipment associated
Before leaving
- Make sure that your alarm is OFF
- Disable alerts from "My account", other users and your community
- Unplug the Link (remove the batteries if it is a Link Advanced) and the cameras
- Take all the equipment down and remove their batteries
For reinstall in the new house
Thanks to the care took before leaving, you can reinstall your alarm system.
Some advices:
- Plug your Link back into a power outlet (put the batteries back before if it is a Link Advanced). If you didn't change the WiFi settings, the Link will be able to reconnect. Otherwise, follow the FAQ: How do I change the Link's WiFi network?
- Do the same if you have cameras and follow this FAQ if needed: How do I change the camera's WiFi network?
- Change IntelliTAG adhesive tapes
- Reinstall all the equipment
- Recalibrate all the IntelliTAGs: How do I recalibrate an IntelliTAG?
- Rename the equipment in the Somfy Protect App if needed
- if you are missing equipment, you can add it,
- reactivate alerts, community, user(s)
- if you have remote monitoring, consider changing your personal information.
2. I delete the installation.
You can delete everything, this will then require re associating everything. Follow the instructions below: How do I remove the entire installation?
B. YOU ARE MOVING AND LEAVING YOUR INSTALLATION
- Just delete the Link, all equipment will be deleted as well.
- The next owner can then reinstall the system from their user account.
- Remember to tell him the name of the Somfy Protect application so that he can continue with the installation.
If your system is still under warranty (it is 5 years), don't forget to leave the invoice. This is essential for any after-sales service return.
